Kinder Baby Monitor — Privacy Policy
Kinder Baby Monitor is built to be private by default. It turns two iPhones you already own into a baby monitor, and it is designed so that the video and audio of your baby stay between your own devices. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not collect.
Video & audio
The live video and audio from the baby device are streamed directly to the parent device over an end-to-end encrypted connection. This stream is never recorded and is never stored on our servers or anywhere in the cloud — only your two devices can see and hear it.
When your two devices cannot connect directly (for example on some mobile or hotel networks), the still-encrypted stream may be passed through a relay server to keep the connection working. The relay only forwards encrypted data and cannot see or hear the contents.
Pairing
To connect the two phones, the app uses a short room code (which you can share as a QR code). A signaling server helps the two devices find each other and set up the encrypted connection. No account, name, or email is required to use the app.
Your baby's name
If you choose to enter your baby's name, it is stored only on your device to personalise the screen and notifications. It is never sent to our servers or shared with anyone.
Optional AI sleep summary
If you turn on the optional nightly recap, the app sends only anonymous sleep numbers — such as total sleep time and the number of times your baby stirred — to our processor to generate a short, plain-words summary. No audio, no video, and no names are ever sent. You can turn this feature off at any time in Settings, in which case the recap is generated entirely on your device.
Analytics
We collect a small amount of anonymous, non-identifying usage analytics (for example, that a monitoring session started) to understand how the app is used and to improve reliability. This data cannot be used to identify you or your baby, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Data storage & sharing
Your activity history and preferences are stored on your device. Your data is never sold, and nothing about your baby is shared with advertisers or other third parties. The limited service providers we use (for the connection and the optional AI summary) only ever process the encrypted stream or the anonymous numbers described above.
Data deletion
Because your history and settings live on your device, deleting the app removes them. There is no personal account for us to delete on the server side.
Not a medical or safety device
Kinder Baby Monitor is a convenience tool to help you keep an eye and ear on your baby. It is not a medical device and should not be relied upon as the sole means of monitoring your child's health or safety. Always follow safe-sleep guidance and use your own supervision.
